Following the successful observance of World Hypertension Day on May 17, 2025, the September issue of the World Hypertension League (WHL) Newsletter has featured an in-depth report highlighting the initiatives and outcomes achieved by the Hypertension Research Center and the Cardiovascular Research Center of the Isfahan Cardiovascular Research Institute.
10th Iranian Joint Cardiovascular Congress was held in May at the Conference Center of Shahid Rajaie Cardiovascular Institute, Medical and Research Center in Tehran, with the participation of prominent specialists in this field from inside and outside the country.
Following the receipt of an official written invitation from the organizers of the 3rd International Webinar on Cardiology in Dubai, the Isfahan Hypertension Research Center undertook the responsibility of managing the webinar section of this conference.
Given the importance of preventing, controlling, and treating hypertension—and the significant role this risk factor plays in the development of cardiovascular diseases—the World Health Organization (WHO) has designated May 17 (Ordibehesht 27) each year as World Hypertension Day. In recent years, this global observance has been held under the slogan:
"Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer."
For celebrating the World Hypertension Day, 17th May, 2024, two separate campaigns were held up along with blood pressure screening for one month.
Coinciding with World Hypertension Day (May 27, 2023), a special event was held with collaboration of the Hypertension Research Center, Isfahan cardiovascular Research Institute, Heart Friends Scientific Association, Heart Friends Association and the Jahad_Elmi Students Association on Friday, May 29, 2023 in the skating field of Mellat Park, adjacent to Azar Bridge.
Celebration of World Hypertension Day with the slogan "Measure your blood pressure, control it, live longer" was held on May 17, 2023 by Isfahan Hypertension Research Center. On this day, the blood pressure was measured for patients referred to the blood pressure clinic, volunteers at cardiovascular clinic and the heads and staff of the Cardiovascular Research Institute.
On the eve of World Hypertension Day on 17 May 2023, we held several meetings at Isfahan cardiovascular Research Institute on planning and coordinating a great event for this day. Attendees in these meeting were key representatives of several centers including Hypertension Research center, Isfahan cardiovascular Research Institute, Heart Friends Scientific Association, Heart Friends Association and Jahad_Elmi Students Association.
The paper entitled "Trends in the Burden and Determinants of Hypertensive Heart Disease in The Eastern Mediterranean Region, 1990-2019: An Analysis of The Global Burden of Disease Study 2019", was recently listed on SSRN's Top Ten download list. As in 09 and 10 April 2023, this paper has been downloaded 25 times.
In the 14th Shiraz Middle East Cardiovascular Congress, which was held on 2-4 Feb 2023, the head of the Hypertension Research Center was responsible for the Hypertension Prevention panel. One of the faculty members of this center also gave a speech in this panel.
